LHPOA Annual Meeting Notice

Annual Fall Meeting
Sunday, September 5th, 3:00pm @ Camp Wachusett
Outdoors weather permitting – please bring your lawn chair

Please join us for our annual fall meeting. This year’s agenda includes:

  1. Secretary and Treasurer reports
  2. Updates on the Milfoil management program
  3. Voting for officers and board members
  4. Communication committee updates

With COVID considerations, we will not host a lunch this year. In case of rain we will meet in the large dining hall, please bring a mask. Carpool if you can, or come in your boat.

The following positions are up for election:

  • President, Vice President, Secretary and three (3) board positions

The President term is for one (1) year, all other positions are two (2) year terms.

We are also looking for someone with basic web design/maintenance skills and someone with social media skills to work on the communication committee.

Route 30 Road Closure in June

Vermont Route 30 will be closed to through traffic between Saint Johns Road and Route 144 for the month of June 2021 while culverts are being replaced. A designated state highway detour will be utilized along VT 4A, VT 22a and VT 73 for truck traffic. A Public Information Meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 10, 2021 at 6:00 PM at the Sudbury Town Offices.

Fall Newsletter

The LHPOA Fall 2020 Newsletter is available HERE. This contains a message from Mark Young, LHPOA President, a summary of this year’s milfoil treatment efforts, and the latest Association financial report. If you have not paid your 2020 dues, please see the payment form on page 3.

LHPOA Annual Meeting

The 2020 LHPOA Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 8th, at 7:00pm via Zoom. Please see the fall newsletter (sent via email) for the link to access the meeting as well as the meeting agenda (which includes approval of dues for 2021 and appointment of Board members).

2020 Membership Dues are now due. Please find the Dues Notice HERE.

The LHPOA will again conduct spot treatment of the lake in our ongoing efforts to control the spread of Eurasian watermilfoil. The target date and time of this year’s treatment is Tuesday, June 16, 2020, beginning at 9 am. Please see the the Advisory Notice and Map for more information.

Board positions open for nominations

Are you looking for ways to get involved in preserving the health and condition of Lake Hortonia? Please consider serving on the LHPOA Board – we need your help!

The following positions are up for election at this year’s Annual Meeting: Vice President, Secretary, three (3) Trustees. If you would like to nominate yourself or another LHPOA member, please contact Mary Batzinger at tbatzinger@nycap.rr.com by Friday, August 30th.

LHPOA Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Lake Hortonia Property Owners Association will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday 9/1 at Camp Wachusett.

The meeting will be preceded by a picnic from 12-1. Cost is $10 per person (no charge for children under 10).

Please RSVP to Dave Weaver (weaver92@myottmail.com) by Monday 8/26 if you would like to attend the picnic and include the # of people attending with you.

We will also have a Silent Auction at the meeting. Members can donate clean/usable items for auction. Contact Janet Weaver (weaver92@myottmail.com) for more info.

The following LHPOA Board positions are up for election at the Annual Meeting: Vice President, Secretary, 3 Trustees. Terms are two years.
