The Town of Sudbury and the Lake Hortonia Property Owners Association recently received an aquatic nuisance control grant‐in‐aid of up to $13,707 from the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation, part of the Agency of Natural Resources. The grant supports the efforts to control and prevent the spread of Eurasian watermilfoil in Lake Hortonia and to other lakes and ponds.
Lake Hortonia also received a 2019 grant of up to $15,000 for spread prevention of Eurasian watermilfoil from the Lake Champlain Basin Program and the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission. The control methods used are approved by the State of Vermont and have minimal to no impact on native vegetation and wildlife. The project runs from June 2019 through September 2019.
Does this grant provide the weed commitee the funding to treat the Cattail Cove area of the lake?
